Dennis and Linda Gentry have been “collectors” for many
years,
attending trade shows and functions dealing in specialty items. “Until
you make it a point to visit these shows, you have no idea of the
interest,” said Linda. “For some time, I’ve been aware of the fact that
home decor items make perfect gifts.”
It was during the time Dennis and Linda were selling their unique chicken-cookers at a Trade’s Days event that Linda decided to open what is regarded as a top marquee store in the Historic Downtown McKinney area.
“The customers tell me they see something ‘new and different’ each time they walk through the store,” said Linda. “This, of course, makes me very proud since that was the main goal in going into business. It makes me realize that the special time required to order and receive top merchandise is worth it all.”
As mentioned, Lone Star Specialty is stocked with top-line home décor accents, spotlighting beautiful candles, decorative soaps, sink strainers, modern abstract art, contemporary pieces, and original paintings … along with the unique chicken cookers that created the idea.
“It’s difficult to mention all of the unusual and unique items on the shelves at Lone Star Specialty, because different items of extreme interest are added regularly. I truly believe this is what makes my store special, and I plan to continue with this approach,” said Linda.
